by Faith Moses

Today is June 23, 2008 the day of the CVS Caremark Charity Classic. It is the 10th anniversary of the charity event. All in all the even has made over 10 million dollars that has been donated to various charities over the past ten years. This event takes place in Barrington, Rhode Island at the Rhode Island Country Club. There are two very important players to Rhode Island playing in this tournament these two players are Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade. The reason why these two players are important is that they both grew up in Rhode Island and they are the co-hosts of this event. This is just some background information of the CVS Caremark Charity Classic.

The CVS Caremark Charity Classic has many aspects that are important to the functioning of the event. One of the major aspects is organization. Organization is very important for the ability that the event will run smoothly. The event has various aspects of organization. One of the major aspects of the organization is the order in which the player tee off. If the players did not go with their partner and their group the play would go very slowly and be in a jumbled mess. There are 5 groups in all. The order that the players went in today is the first group which consists of Dana Quigley, Brad Quigley, Paul Goydos and Tim Herron. The group teed off at 10:30 the first person that teed off was Dana Quigley, then Brad Quigley teed off after Dana because they were partners, then Paul Goydos teed off after Brad and then Tim Herron teed off after Paul because they were partners. Then after that group teed off the next group teed off 10-15 minutes after the previous groups. The reason for this is because it would be dangerous to tee off right after the group before you because there could be injury. At 10:40 the second group teed off the second group consists of Camilo Villegas, Bubba Watson, Nick Faldo and Justin Rose. The order was Camilo Villegas the Bubba Watson; they are partners and then it was Nick Faldo then Justin Rose; they are partners. At 10:50 the third group teed off. The third group consists of Nicole Castrale, Lauren Diaz, Davis Love III and Billy Andrade. The order of these players is Nicole Castrale then Lauren Diaz; they are partners and then it was Davis Love III and then Billy Andrade; they are partners. At 11:00 -11:05 the fourth group teed off. The fourth group consists of Nick Price, Charles Howell III, Peter Jacobsen and Brad Faxon. The order that they teed off in was the same order that they are listed in the previous sentence. Brad Faxon and Peter Jacobsen are partners and Nick Price and Charles Howell III are partners. The last group to tee off was the fifth group, the group teed off at 11:10-11:15. The fifth group consists of JJ Henry, Stewart Clink, Brandt Snedeker and Rocco Mediate. Those are all the players, the groups and the partners. It is obvious that the order that the players tee in is crucial for the organization and safety of the event. If there was no organization in the tournament it would affect the tournament negatively.

More organization in the CVS Charity Classic that is crucial for the capability to have the occasion run smoothly would be the seating and viewing for all. The reason why this is a significant organization aspect of the tournament because there are probably thousands of people viewing the event and there needs to be areas for them to sit and stand to view the golfers. There is roping that allows the viewers to stand at a respectable distance from where the players tee off, on the fairway and green. There is also stands at the 18th hole that allow you to sit and watch the 18th hole. There is also VIP luxury boxes that allow people who have companies that sponsor the CVS Charity Classic to watch the golfers at a particular hole. This is a major part of the organization. If there was no where for the people to sit/stand and watch the golfers then there would be no point in coming to the event. Therefore not having any money to give to the charities.

In conclusion the CVS Charity Classic needs organization to help it run smoothly throughout the whole time the tournament is going on. As you can see with having so many people there to watch the golfers and having 20 professional golfers there as well, thus there needs to be lots of organization. If not many things could be damaged or run horribly, which would be very dreadful.
