FIVE ELITE GOLFERS JOIN THE 2012 CVS CAREMARK CHARITY CLASSIC FIELD
New Additions Augment Already Strong Field
BARRINGTON, Rhode Island (May 22, 2012) – The CVS Caremark Charity Classic has added two more LPGA and three more Champions Tour golfers to its 2012 roster: Suzann Pettersen, Morgan Pressel, Jeff Sluman, John Cook and Jay Haas. These top-flight pros will be part of a field of 20 professional golfers who will compete in the June 17-19 charity golf tournament at Rhode Island Country Club.
Pettersen, the No. 3 ranked woman golfer in the world, has earned eight victories on the LPGA tour, including the 2007 LPGA Championship. In addition, she has played in the Solheim Cup six times in her career. Pressel, a two-time winner on the LPGA tour, returns to the CVS Caremark Charity Classic for the fourth time. Pettersen and Pressel expand the already impressive LPGA tour contingent committed to the 2012 CVS Caremark Charity Classic.
Six-time PGA and four-time Champions tour winner Sluman is a two-time CVS Caremark Charity Classic champion (2003, 1999). Veteran golfers Cook and Haas – who have a combined 43 career victories – bring strong play to the tournament as well.
The CVS Caremark Charity Classic uniquely offers sports enthusiasts the chance to enjoy world-class golf in a relaxed atmosphere while helping to support hundreds of New England area charities. Tournament week begins with the Pepsi Pro-Am on Sunday, June 17 followed by the two-day tournament on Monday, June 18-Tuesday, June, 19 at the Rhode Island Country Club.

Children 17 and under are free with a ticketed adult. The tournament also offers tickets to the Wine Pavilion presented by Robert Mondavi Private Selection. Open to attendees ages 21 or older, the Wine Pavilion is located between the 16th and 17th fairways along Narragansett Bay and offers daily food and wine samplings provided by award-winning Robert Mondavi, Clos Du Bois and Blackstone wines. Offering spectacular, close-up views of tournament play, tickets to the pavilion tent are $50 per day.
