EIGHT AMATEUR GOLFERS SET TO “PLAY LIKE THE PROS”
Closest to the Pin contest will raise additional funds for tournament’s charity partners
BARRINGTON, R.I. (June 17, 2012) – Eight amateur players from the CVS Caremark Charity Classic’s Sunday Pepsi Pro-Am have qualified to move on to the 2nd annual Pepsi MAX Amateur Shootout, and will tee it up on Monday among the tournament’s main field professional teams. Both winning pro-am teams featured one of the LPGA pros playing in the main field.
Helena Foulkes (Providence, R.I.), Executive Vice President and Chief Health Care Strategy and Marketing Officer for CVS Caremark, and her teammates Colin Armstrong (Sydney, Australia), Kevin Tassinari (Andover, Mass.) and Rick Hayward (Hampden, Maine) finished at the top of the pack in the morning shotgun at 19-under-par 52. Their pro Brittany Lincicome was one of 12 main field players who also participated in this year’s Pepsi Pro-Am.
The winners of the afternoon Pepsi Pro-Am also posted a 19-under-par 52 with the help of main field pro Lexi Thompson. Amateurs Paul Ferns (Medway, Mass.), Keith Duffy (Wellesley, Mass.), Paul Keating (Norfolk, Mass.) and Steven Costa (Somerset, Mass.), Senior Director Network Services East for CVS Caremark, ran away with the coveted second Pepsi MAX Shootout spot.

Closet to the Pin Contest
Each of the 20 main field professionals will be paired with one of the tournament’s charity partners. Each day, the golfer whose tee shot lands closest to the pin on the 17th hole wins $25,000 for the charity for which they are playing.
Classic Skins Competition
The tournament’s 10 two-person teams will compete in the annual Skins Competition featuring a daily prize pool of $25,000.
Tournament
On Monday, June 20, tournament activities begin at 9:30 a.m. with a fun and entertaining opening ceremony featuring the trick shots from the pros including long drive champion Jamie Sadlowski and impressionist Nico Bollini. The first round of tournament competition begins immediately following the clinic with the final round slated for Tuesday, June 21 at 9 a.m.
