Ricky Barnes and J.B. Holmes Win the 2010 CVS Caremark Charity Classic

Down-to-the-Wire Finish With Co-Ed Teams Posting Strong Results

BARRINGTON, R.I. (June 29, 2010) – Ricky Barnes and J.B. Holmes won the 2010 CVS Caremark Charity Classic after posting an impressive second round score of 13-under-par 58 at Rhode Island Country Club.  The long-hitting duo edged out second place finishers Brett Quigley and LPGA partner Angela Stanford, who finished 20-under-par for the two-day tournament.    

Tied for third were the teams of Juli Inkster and Boo Weekley and Suzann Petterson and Hunter Mahan both of whom were tied for the lead going into today’s final round.  They each finished 19-under-par.

In the spirit of the tournament’s main charity focus, Boo Weekley informed tournament officials that he will donate $40,000 - half of his earnings - back to the CVS Caremark Charity Classic.

Champions Barnes and Holmes were the only team to get a Classic Skin on Tuesday with an eagle on hole five, netting the team $25,000. 

“We were determined to get a skin,” said Barnes. 

Holmes was on a hot streak on Tuesday winning the Neutrogena Skin Care Long Drive Contest with a 344-yard drive on hole 15, blowing the tournament record of 315 out of the water.

CVS Caremark Charity Classic TV Schedule

New this year, the 2010 CVS Caremark Charity Classic will air on the Golf Channel in September with a new three-hour format.  The special will air four times throughout September.  Air dates are:
