Biography

 

Joining the CVS Caremark Charity Classic for his 15th consecutive appearance is 37-year TOUR veteran Peter Jacobsen.  Jacobsen has been a member of two Ryder Cup teams, and has won of seven PGA TOUR events and two Champions Tour major championships. He was honored in 2006 with the Francis Ouimet Award for Lifelong Contributions to Golf and in 2012 received the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America’s Old Tom Morris Award. 

Known for his charming charisma and spot-on impersonations, Jacobsen became a household name after his many off-course projects highlighted his comedic talents.  Not only is he the voice of the Golden Tee Live arcade game, he was also the host of two Golf Channel variety shows, the co-author of two lighthearted golf books and a recording artist in the 80’s and 90’s with the golf parody group “Jake Trout and the Flounders.”  In addition to competing on the Champions Tour he is also a member of the NBC Sports broadcast team.
