Morgan Pressel

Biography

Pressel started playing golf at eight years old. She credits her grandfather as being most influential in her career. Pressel turned professional in November of 2006 after she tied for sixth at the LPGA Qualifying Tournament. Since then, Pressel has had two LPGA victories at the 2007 Kraft Nabisco Championship and the 2008 Kapalua LPGA Classic. She also started the Morgan & Friends Fight Cancer charity tournament, which benefits the Lynn Cancer Institute in Boca Raton, Florida. The tournament raised $502,000 this year. She was also honored at the Susan G. Komen for the Cure “Wake Up For The Cure” breakfast this year and presented with the first ever Kristin Hoke Award for her efforts in the fight against breast cancer. Pressel has played in two tournaments so far in the 2011 season, finishing fifth in the HSBC Women’s Champions. This will be Pressel’s third appearance at the CVS Caremark Charity Classic.
